Eurydice, Don't Follow Me

Alone again, Fritzie apprehensively continued up the marble staircase. When she reached the top, she craned her head around, trying to see where it was that she had ended up this time.

"Hello?"

Fritzie stands in silence after Joey vanishes from before her eyes. The quiet echoes off the stone walls of the chamber around her, the many passages that lead out of it revealing no clue as to whether they might lead her to the correct answer. Bizarro Fritzie's voice echoes in her head:

"Nice going. He ditched you too. So now what?"

Scene 2: The descent. [Aug. 22nd, 2006|07:09 pm]

With the restless shades of her parents and Bizarro Fritzie in tow, Fritzie continues down the strange corridor she had been traversing when she was first interrupted by their appearance. The passage twists and bends as it leads her inexorably down into the dry, silent darkness of whatever lies below. The grey mist darkens and thickens, taking on the appearance, if not the heat or the smell, of smoke. No unique features can be seen in the space around her, but still, Fritzie continues on.

Suddenly, a huge shape looms out of the shadows in front of her and Fritzie stumbles to a halt. The clouds of smoke part and the red, glowering face of some sort of devil peers down at her. He wrinkles his brow, extends a trident of dark metal, and thrusts it at Fritzie's chest. She flinches backwards, but the trident passes through her insubstantial body without leaving a mark. In a tone somewhere halfway between boredom and puzzlement, the demon says, "You're not supposed to be here."

Scene 1: Into the underworld. [Jul. 31st, 2006|10:42 pm]

Fritzie reaches the end of the long, dark tunnel she had fallen through after completing her ritual and leaving the world she'd known behind. The space in which she finds herself is only slightly less dark, but has the feel of a large cavern instead of a tunnel. Nearby, the sound of a raging river can be heard, running through the cavern and disappearing into nothingness.

Apart from the river, the cavern is empty except for one other person - a tall, thin person in a black robe with a cowl, standing at the edge of the river with his back to Fritzie. He stands next to a black, flat-bottomed boat, and holds a long oar in one hand. Looking more closely, Fritzie can see that his hands are not so much human hands as a collection of bones, held together by some invisible force, grasping the oar tightly. So far, he has not moved or seemed to have noticed her presence.

I guess that now is the time to do what I came here to do.

So, here's kicking things off for our little bluebooking community, in which Fritzie will carry out her quest through the underworld until such time as chia_rhino can come back to us for the finale. Please comment to this entry when you've successfully joined so I can know that we're all present and accounted for (though it should be a little while before we get things rolling).

humbleminion, I've added you and will make you a mod/maintainer, although as always, your level of direct participation in this thing is totally up to you. I'd love it if you'd be willing to take control of some of these Fritzie plots, however. We'll talk more about where all this stuff with Fritzie is going once we get through the the next couple of sessions.

One quick question for all three of you: Do you want entries in this community to be friendslocked or public? I always intended to lock them and make them public after all was said and done, but if you'd rather do this with an audience, that's cool by me too.
